The Gígjökull Glacier on the Eyjafjallajökull volcano is a dominant feature on the south coast of Iceland. Eyjafjallajökull become notorious all over the world when it erupted in 2010 producing a massive ash cloud, disrupting air travel for weeks and destroying the agricultural region around it.
