FAQ
Q - Do you take commissions?
A - Yes we do. If you would like us to make you a unique item or take a mould from a specific Glacier or special location, please contact us to discuss your idea by emailing info@garogosi.com.
Q – How long will my order take to arrive?
A - All of our jewellery is hand made between Wales, London and Chamonix Mont Blanc. Because of our unique creation process, please allow two to three weeks for delivery, unless available immediately. Just email us and we can let you know. If you need an item by a certain date, please contact us and we will do our very best to get it to you in time.
Q - How is my jewellery made?
A - This is the exciting part. First, we check the weather. Then we gear up with all of our materials and equipment and make our way up to the Glacier or mountain. We choose a location, apply our specialised mould (a process which has taken years to perfect), take the GPS coordinates (this is why we offer an engraving option) and wait 24 hours for the mould to set. We then either camp out on the Glacier, or make our way back to the studio and get ready to return to the Glacier the following day. The next morning, we follow our GPS locator, find our mould and slowly peel it from the surface of the Glacier. This process leaves no trace or damage, and reveals a fingerprint of the surface, capturing everything including the most minute and intricate details. We then use this mould to make a cast, from which your jewellery is made.
Q - How should I look after my jewellery?
A - To ensure the longevity of your item, take it off before swimming, bathing or showering as this could lead to tarnishing. However, a tarnished item can be easily cleaned with a polishing cloth to return its shine. Also take extra care when climbing its best to take the item off to keep you and the item safe.
Q - I received a damaged item, what can I do?
A - Whilst we make every effort to ensure you receive your item in perfect condition, if this is not the case please contact us at info@garogosi.com within 48 hours.
Q - How is my jewellery delivered?
A - Once leaving our studio in Chamonix or Wales, we will use FedEx or Royal Mail to post your order. You will receive your order in an unbranded external packaging containing our Garogosi branded packaging. Please ensure someone is available to receive your order as we require a signature upon delivery. If no one is available you will be left a delivery card stating a later delivery date.
